Mission

  • Radio Pulpit is an independent, trans-cultural and trans-denominational media organisation.
  • Our divine assignment is to proclaim the Gospel message through the production and broadcasting of radio programmes, supported by other electronic media, publications and community initiatives.
  • Our focus is to be a companion to believers in their journey of faith and win unbelievers for Christ.
  • We participate in radio missionary activities by facilitating and establishing Christian radio ministries in Africa and provide training and development opportunities for Christian broadcasters.

Goals

UCB Africa (United Christian Broadcasters of Africa) has partnered with Studio 7, a state-of-the-art recording studio which reaches out to the youth and adults of Northern Botswana through radio broadcast. In addition, “The Word For Today”, a quarterly publication that provides inspiration hundreds of people in the Northern area of Botswana, is distributed free of charge through the partnership of UCB and local advertisers.

Background

Jerry and Jana Lackey, formerly of Houston, TX were called to Maun, Botswana in 1987. The late Pastor John Osteen, of Lakewood Church, ordained them, blessed them, and sent them off to Africa. They have a heart to see the people of Southern Africa become strong, victorious people for God.

Jerry and Jana had humble beginnings. They made regular trips into the arid desert of northern Botswana, sleeping in the bush and learning from the Batswana people. In 1990 they relocated the ministry to their current home, the village of Maun. During this time, the Lackey family expanded. They were blessed with three sons, Remick, Jordan, Mason, and a daughter, Mmapula. In Maun, God opened door for Jerry and Jana to launch Love Botswana Outreach Mission.

Since the inception of Love Botswana, the Lackeys have operated with the simple desire to serve the people of central and Southern Africa. They aim to meet spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. Love Botswana commits to stand alongside those within the African infrastructure in assisting in the development of mutli-national African cooperative efforts.
